Doreen Millar, Miss. Millar, is a nearly 93-years-old lady, she is going to turn 93 in two months. I’m being so fussy because she is! If you could meet her, she would tell you she is 92, even if she will be 93 in less than sixty days.
Anyway, Miss. Millar worked as librarian for 57 years, she had in her hands so many books that you can't even conceive. She also tried to write her own book, but she didn't find a publishing house willing to publish it. I can’t tell you if the problem was with the book or the publishing house she applied to.
Mss. Millar never married, once there was a suitor, back in the day this young man was a really good catch. He was handsome, tall, smart, and well-mannered. However, he used to have one big, unique fault. The handsome guy’s big drawback was that he was a loud chewer.
The young Doreen was really grated on by the handsome guy’s awkward habit. So one night, during the dinner, she got up, pushed the chair backwards, placed her hands on the table, and said: “I can’t suffer it a minute more!” And she left the room.
If I may say so, our Doreen was quite a character! I may also add that the handsome guy risked to getting more than he bargained for, if he had married Doreen.
Considering Mss. Millar is nearly 73-years-old and has been a librarian for most of her life, you would never guess she could be such a firecracker!
Only recently, I discovered that in her 20s, Miss Millar took the plunge and went parachuting, despite the fear and whirlwind of thoughts that undoubtedly filled your mind in those moments, she never bottle up parachuting.
